Denver Water Lead Reduction Program
Most homes in Driving Park HD are either likely or confirmed to have lead pipes between the street and their home. This year Denver Water initiated a program to replace those lines at no charge to its customers. The program will take 15 years to complete. In the meantime, they have distributed water filters pitchers to be used to filter water for drinking and cooking. The Denver Lead Reduction website provides lots of information about this program as well as contact information.

Ridwell
Ridwell provides a biweekly service that goes beyond Dener's recycling program, i.e., they take items that are we cannot (should not) put in our purple bins such as bubble wrap, those blue and white Amazon mailers, batteries and clothing' fabric and shoes . When you sign up for the service ( paid 3, 6 and 12 months in advance), they provide a box for your porch and bags for collecting each of the items they take. They only work with local and domestic reuse and recycling partners that they have carefully vetted, so you know your stuff is going to the right places and staying out of the landfill. You can learn more about their services on their website. If you want to sign up, be sure to check out the flyer that we received at our 2021 Annual Meeting.
Denver Recycling
Here you can learn what to put in those purple containers and you can sign up for reminders so you don't miss a pickup. It is important to be aware of what can and cannot be recycled in our purple containers. If items on the "not acceptable" list are in our containers we risk contaminating an entire load of recyclables. Did you know that toothpaste tubes, paper and hardback books and bubble wrap are on the "not acceptable" list? It is also important to avoid plastic bags of any kind. They get all twisted up in our state of the art recycling plant! If you have something you are not sure should be in the purple container, check it by clicking here.
